Get Through the Kermit Highfield Study on COVID-19 Impact on Snack Industry!
Kermit Highfield conducted a deep study of Coronavirus impact on the American Snack Industry. With the onslaught of COVID-19, a major downfall has been witnessed by almost every industry.
From weeks to months, people were bound to stay at home without having the option of restaurants or stores. Work from home picked up the pace. Here’s how the snack industry of America faced the changes!
Drastic Shift from Restaurants to Homes!
Restaurants & stores closed, theaters closed, markets closed and there remains no option for Americans to shift to home-made food only.
The last decade endorsed less meal preparation at homes as the busy mundane didn’t allow people to have this much time to prepare food themselves. They used to take snacks, meals on a ready-made basis from stores or restaurants to fulfill their daily demands. Where the industries ramp up production scales to prepare & serve maximum snacks then corona hit them badly.
It made a severe change in the lives of people by switching from restaurants to homes!
Snack Industry Shoot up!
The snack industry faced a boost up in this Corona crisis. It’s demand quickly hiked up as people shifted to having more packed products like nuts, chips, popcorns, etc. Even the industry faced a shortage of supply during that period.
Where many products’ supply was tightened their snacks supply enhanced manifold, beyond everyone’s expectations. People carrying on work from home and had recreational works there only, shifted their food demands to more snacks and packed food. It impacted the packaging as well.
So Kermit Highfield concluded that as long as people stay home, demand will always shoot up & supply pressures will also continue to be there!
